A quiet and tranquil cycle path stretches from Lanzenkirchen via Mittereck and Ofenbach.
If you enjoy cycling on quiet, deserted paths, you will particularly like the Rosalia route. You rarely encounter other cyclists on the entire route. Nevertheless, the route is worth a trip and a real insider tip. It starts at the Grandhotel Niederösterreichischer Hof in Lanzenkirchen and takes you through the Süßenbrunn forest directly to the crest of the Rosaliengebirge. Only occasionally do you encounter steeper, more challenging sections of the trail, but they are really worth it, as you can even catch a glimpse of the Schneeberg from time to time. Passionate mountain bikers will get their money's worth. The descent through the Großer Kaiserwald forest, which takes you into the Ofenbach valley, is particularly pleasant. The 13th century Ofenbacher Bergkircherl church is well worth a visit. The rest area there is also a great place to take a break. The route continues briskly along the Frohsdorf main road back to the starting point of the tour.
Our route begins at the Grandhotel Niederösterreichischer Hof in Lanzenkirchen. We ride northeast and pass a chapel where we turn right onto Steinbruchgasse. Then we follow Tellerweg to Forststraße. Now we ride a good stretch through the Süßenbrunn Forest to the Rosalien Mountains. We always keep to the right and come to a narrow and steep path that leads us over the pushing section to Krieriegel. At Mittereck, our extended descent through Große Kaiserwald begins until we reach the Ofenbach valley. We follow Merbeleiten-Straße and soon reach the Ofenbach mountain chapel. Finally, we reach Ofenbach and Frohsdorfer Hauptstraße, which takes us back to our starting point after about 60-90 minutes.
