Mountain bike tour Starting from Katzelsdorf, castle
The moderate gravel route around the Rosalia runs like a "figure-eight loop" through the hilly landscape between Lower Austria and Burgenland.
Where the foothills of the Alps merge into the Pannonian plain lies the Rosalia, a range of hills in the north of the Bucklige Welt. The tour starts and ends in Katzelsdorf an der Leitha. The route leads along the signposted "Sauberbründl route" and the "Buma-Bia route". The combination of the two routes forms a "figure-eight loop", which mainly runs along the eastern side of the Rosalia.
The first stop on the route is Bad Sauerbrunn. After passing through the famous spa town, the route heads up through the forest on the Sauerbründl route. The route then turns into the Buma-Bia route towards Forchtenstein and on to Wiesen. The direct route leads back via Bad Sauerbrunn to Katzelsdorf. If you want to ride the "Achter", head towards Forchtenstein again, but then turn off towards Lanzenkirchen on the western side of the Rosalia. From here it is only a short distance back to Katzelsdorf.
